AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud all operate Canadian regions in Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City, and they offer H100s and other GPUs. There is a catch worth stating plainly: US-headquartered operators with Canadian data centres are still subject to the US CLOUD Act. Your data is physically in Canada, but legally within US jurisdictional reach. That is a dealbreaker for some organisations and a non-issue for others. What matters is deciding it deliberately, rather than discovering it during a privacy impact assessment six months into a deployment.
A second, more practical caveat: hyperscalers sometimes list flagship GPUs in their Canadian catalogs that are not actually deliverable from a Canadian region yet. Before architecting around a specific accelerator, get a written commitment on availability in the exact region you will be billed from.
SPUR is Canadian-owned and Canadian-operated end to end. There is no foreign parent that can be compelled to produce your data. Read the full guide to Canadian sovereign AI providers →
